Progesterones injections are compounded (mixed in the pharmacy) medications. Progesterone is mixed with different oils for intramuscular (in the muscle - IM) injection:

Olive Oil: Creates a thick consistency requiring a thicker needle – believed to provide easiest muscle absorption of all compounded progesterone options.

Ethyl Oleate: Thinnest compound for IM injection.

Sesame Oil: Mid-level consistency for IM injection.

Progesterone Suppository
